Assuming the video quality does not improve, this is the general idea:

I created a new account, "angrytigerpony", with the intent of reuploading the episodes and hosting future pony-related stuff from me. I figured that, given my copyright strikes, the new account would have no issues. Upon attempting to upload episode 26 as a test to the new account, I was greeted with that same screen you've all seen before -- "Video was removed because it violated content guidelines", despite the account being brand-new.

This tells me that YouTube has all videos that I uploaded -- Mentos' 1080p encodes -- flagged globally, such that any attempt to upload them by anyone is flagged and instantly removed. This means that you will not see those videos return under my name or any related alias. The good news is that plenty of other venues exist to get one's fix of HD episodes.

As for the new channel, I intend to upload 1080p rips of the episodes if Mentos (or anyone else) makes good ones, as well as any MLP-related randomness I might have.

  • Wait...i'm confused...does this mean you can't upload them at ALL? So how would creating a new channel help?

I subscribed to the new channel anyway. :)

  • @VioletWhirlwind I didn't realize that there was the restriction on ALL accounts... YouTube makes it seem that you can get an extended time limit by confirming your account (you give Google your phone number, they text you, boom you verify you're not a troll), but it didn't work.

  • Maybe youtube blocked your whole computer from posting any mlp.

  • @mlpfimguy That's not how it works.

Considering I am uploading from a different IP than my last uploads, it isn't unique to my computer.

But more seriously, this is really annoying. Really, trolls? Really?

  • There must be a way to contact YouTube and get them to un-flag those rips. There is no good reason whatsoever for them to be blocked other than some trolls deciding to try and cause chaos for the lulz. The fact there's permanent damage on the entire site done by that is just plain ridiculous.

  • Youtubeseption!

  • This makes luna very sad :(
