Oakville Senior Struck and Killed by Recycling Truck

The Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the death of a senior behind the McDonald's Restaurant on Iroquois Shore Road in the Town of Oakville on Friday March 25th.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. the 83 yr old Oakville man parked his car at the rear of the restaurant and was walking across the parking lot. At the same time a private waste recycling truck removing cardboard from the restaurant backed up and stuck the man. The truck then continued on its route. It is believed that the driver of the truck did not realize he had struck the man. Another patron came upon the senior and called 9-1-1.
Police and EMS responded, and the senior was pronounced dead at the scene.
