This song was requested by Bleeder599, a super-skilled GH and RB vocalist. Struggling to sing songs like this remind me why I've always admired Freddie Mercury so much. I cannot belt those high notes at all. @_@ But I think the harmonies came out okay at least.

This video was created by isolating each of the 3 vocal parts in practice mode (Expert Difficulty) and then layering the video/audio from each run on top of each other. Normally I would take the lead part into Quickplay and FC it there instead of doing it in Practice Mode, but because of the way the parts are distributed in this song, you can't stick to just one part in Quickplay alone and FC the song. Therefore none of these are a "real" scored run but I did get 100% on each separate part.

Nitpicky Queen fan trivia: I'm a little disappointed that Harmonix decided to distribute the Bridge section so strangely. I'd have figured there'd be an obsessive enough Queen devotee among the authors to notice that Freddie doesn't sing the lead part in the bridge - the guitarist Brian May does, and Freddie does backup! Assuming Lead = Freddie, the Bridge should have gone:

Harmony 1: "I'm a man with a one-track mind, so much to do in one lifetime"
Lead: "People do you hear me"
Harmony 1: "Not a man for compromise or wheres and whys and living lies / So I'm living it all"
Lead: "Yes I'm living it all"
Harmony 1: "And I'm giving it all"
Lead: "And I'm giving it all"

  • super skilled vocalist? me? im blushing :)

epic job, this song has such great harmonies, and you nailed em. awesome job

  • @Bleeder599 Thanks! Glad you liked it. :)

  • @mrsjadephoenix and just to hop on the bandwagon, somebody to love would be pretty epic, but its up to you, cos that song would be a NIGHTMARE to learn lol

  • @Bleeder599 Yeah seriously... o_O It's not getting done in a hurry, that's for sure...

  • I see that everyone is itching for Somebody to Love, huh? :)

This was awesome, the ending gave me chills! Now if you don't mind some nitpicking from someone other than you, everything is okay on the tags, except for the song and artist, which are still Walk of Life and Dire Straits xD

  • @TidusOfSH Ahhhh...cursed by copy/paste yet again! Fixed now. And yes, it seems everyone is requesting that song now. o_O I think it may take me a while to learn but I would like to do a video for it. :)

  • Fucking lame ruins the song

  • Sounded beautiful! Really well done.

I'm actually glad to see you did this in practice mode. I personally think it's borderline cheating for someone to record themselves twice and play it back for a score run.

  • 2 people don't want it all. But I'm loving this video.

  • @orimarc Voice, not so much. Harmonies, yes. I with I could understand harmonies.

  • No wonder everybody's requesting Somebody To Love. Your voice is epic.

  • Lovely vocal performance! Well done with the harmonies and you did the song great justice!

One thing about your rant: I don't think that they charted the harmonies according to "person", but rather the part. As you said, in the Bridge, Brian's singing the lead, but it's still the lead vocal part. In the "band centric" games, I think this was ditched in favor of everyone playing a band member's role. In RB3, it seems like it's specific to part instead. Kinda silly to switch regardless...
