well in that case why not include her peers since each of them come from a group..gladys knight sang with the pips who danced and provide harmony making her successful..she never mentions the pips..chaka came from RUFUS..whom she never mentions. Patti came from the Bluebells and Labelle..yet people never mention her Nona or Sarah dash. yall only single out diana when she IS Not the only one that came from a Group. all of the artist on that bill came from a Group not just diana.

I disagree. If you look at any of The Supreme performance it s all about Diana. The other two were accessories. Even after Diana left Mary for the most part was a background singer. On most footage Diana is the only one with a mic. Diana worked the hardest and therefore was the star. Wouldl we even be talking about The Supremes if Diana wasn't still such an icon?

Diana Ross was 64 years old, here. I think she looks terrific. Look at that body! I saw her in March 2011, and she still looks and sounds great. Her voice seem stronger now, and she doesn't play around as much. She comes on stage and sings, those beautiful songs...one after the other. She only leaves the stage to change her outfits. However, she invited one person on stage to dance with her. However, for the most part, she sings...simply sings.

back during the time diana came out harmony was a big thing..solo were rare at that time and few survived or became huge..but Many became huge after they left their groups or continued to be huge. it all went with the times. even dionne warwick was in a group. settin when she was discovered..as with aretha..but No once the homed in on diane unique sound..long as it was diana didnt matter who the hell was on back up

I was at this show. It was not a good performance by Diana. She sounds hoarse and lackluster. But I was back at Radio City last night and she was much better! Not the voice of the 70s, 80s or even 90s but still really good, esp. for 66 years old!

Glad u see my point. I for one have never played down Mary or Flo contributions. But jus like this Kurt person is hell bent on down playing diana and building up the Supremes, as a fan of the supremes since 1964(8yrs) I will come to her defense. Its not fair to single her out when Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Chaka, even the later ones Justin Timberlake and Beyonce ALL came from groups whom they Dont mention today and Sing their groups songs. Yet no one bellie aches.
