I know what you mean! When I first saw the first two series I was overwhelmed with Jack and Ianto that I forgot to take into account what was going on with the storyline... or rather lack of! Now I have looked at it over and over again for the vids I see so many flaws and frankly with the hype around RTD and the writers, I had to take a step back and think seriously was this a team effort of just a bunch of ideas thrown together? Apart from no Janto in Series 4 I wouldn't watch it now anyway!

My head is spinning with the amount of inconsistencies in the entire series, rushed is a mild way to put it, it was past that. Even Jack's relationship with Ianto was just shoved in our face one episode via a kiss. There was not much build up, no tension to indicate they were in fact getting together. What did Jack say/do after killing Lisa to make Ianto end up in his bed (again?) Too much things left undone/unsaid :(

Yes I think you are right - Gwen was the favourite from the outset and the fuss that has been made of her in the new series means that poor Ianto didn't have a chance for a proper look-in! Plus I know what you mean about who was Ianto really but... that was why I thought it was so rushed and sinister at the end because when Gwen got married Ianto spoke fondly about his father being a tailor and surely Jack would have checked out his background?? So the lie didn't ring true for me!

Plus, as long as Gwen's relatively happy and painted in a good light, who cares about the others-that's the vibe I get from this entire series. It was the Gwen story long before Ianto died.

I don't think it has anything to do with GDL as a person as it does his character. I don't think there was anything sinister (my opinion), just bad case of favoritism. Gwen is the only developed character, and Ianto the most under developed. I'd love if there was more back story on Ianto, especially why is relationship with his family is so strained. What his sis said about him lying about himself to Gwen is left hanging and I'm like, who the hell is Ianto Jones really?

Actually I agree - Ianto's death was a step too far. I never understood why the Doctor did not step in and help with the 456 as he could have particularly to make amends for the sacrifice of those children before. Also what I never ever ever understood is why RTD consistently saved Rhys by bringing him back from the dead and being ok after he was shot plus Amy Pond's husband is seemingly invincible - something not right there?? Favouritism or something more sinister? Did GDL upset someone?

I agree. In some ways I wish I never started watching Torchwood because of Ianto's death. I would have preferred if NOBODY died! They could do a Dr. Who crossover and make the Doctor help save Ianto and maybe the others from their death.

I seem to remember balling my eyes out whilst I was making the vid!!! It still gets me all teary even after all this time!! I just wish they would bring Ianto back and make Jack happy again!!! No fling with a bar boy is going to give him what he had with Ianto!! But... hey... I guess that is just me being the romantic .... :(
