It's meant as an ironic juxtaposition in order to highlight the character of Wolfwood (the priest with the guns for anyone who doesn't know the story). It is one of my favorite hymns and it suits him all too well. I would suggest watching the anime (Trigun) you may understand then. Besides, since when has the CHURCH been a peacful organisation? Can we say Crusades? European Expansion? or for the more modern minded, Statitory Rape? sure, I knew ya could.

@RaihneStorm the church is made of humans, of course its violent like all humans. God is not all these things though. He died and rose again to create forgiveness and peace with Him, but man complicates it. the church shouldn't be a religion but a relationship. there are many good churches like that

Hate to break it to you; but with the exception of that one child, neither character took a life in that entire video. Even then, it's not using this song specifically for the Christian aspect, so much as the lyrics themselves.

is this an anime or something? while i think it's laudable the way it shows the hero killing villains, it's quite ironic that he hides his weapons inside a cross. the soundtrack is an offering of the self to God. there are many ways of doing so, aside from violence.
