@dwhtyo The law now is that you can't even bring them out of the water. It seems a bit ridiculous because its not going to harm the fish to bring him in the door to get the hook out of its mouth if you aren't able to turn it out. Seems like a better alternative to me than cutting the leader and leaving the hook in.

That was a big ass grouper, I guess you didn't catch him though did you? I had a sunfish on once and big bass came up and did the same thing, I didn't catch the bass either :(

@dwhtyo Yeah, my bass spit the sunfish, I spent the rest of the day fishing for bass, no luck. That grouper fishing looks like fun though, I've heard they are very good eating. I've also heard they are protected or something now, don't know if you can keep 'em or not.

@clintonearlwalker this grouper is a goliath grouper and at the time we caught it, the law didn't allow keeping them, now there is a law against bringing them into the boat. other types of grouper can be harvested, I have never caught any keepers but what I have eaten have been really good, espeically at The Wreck in Marathon. Wish I was there now!
