  • I say "Ee-van-ge-lee-uhn", close enough? Or do I really need to say "Ey-van-ge-lee-uhn"?

  • @JinRenegade No, that is not close enough. The major point of the video is that "Ee-va" is a common mispronunciation when its really "Ay-va" -- that's how they actually pronounce it on screen in the TV series and Rebuild.

  • :l That's the Japanese version. There are many versions to say it, too.

  • @tsunjanai No. There's only one correct way to pronounce it. As I explain, it isn't even a Japanese word. Please prove it is pronounced some other way: "proof" is not "me and my friends personally prefer to pronounce it this way"....but some sort of hard facts you can cite.

  • I've always pronounced the names of everything in the same way they were said in the show so I never called it "Eevanjellyon" but I had no idea Nerv = "Nairf" & Seele = zay-leh" I have to say I really like the sound of Zay-leh.

How did you even get to meet up with David Salo and did you get to talk about anything else?

  • ....the major point of this and the other video, WAS that "the English dub people made mistakes"...don't blindly trust everything

    ....because I'm V

  • ohhh..... 9gag

  • This is fantastic. Pure awesomeness. Undisputed facts can and will persist in dominating the legions of people who wish to look away from truth. The video reinforces the attitude to embrace truth over fallacy. I applaud your efforts V!

  • if youre talking linguistics POST THE GOD DAMN PHONETIC TRANSCRIPTION AND QUIT RAGING AT THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THIS IR THAT....by the way this video is completely pointless

  • dude bullshit. zey- leh for seele is completely wrong. thats y americans speak bullshit german. is it so hard to get? and come on, evangelion in greek, no problem at all.

  • @ReVolutionOfEva Ευαγγέλιον ;) (how it is actually written in greek)

  • U are such a hypocrite. In ur other "say it the right way" video and in this video, u DO NOT pronounce evangelion or those other words the way Salo does!! THERE IS NO V IN GREEK. The letter beta supplies that usage. AND, this word in question is properly spelled with a U, not a V.

  • Ei - vwan - g - el - li - uhn.

Theres a subtle sound in between a "v" sound and "w" sound in the "van" syllable, much like "fu" in Japanese is pronounced "hfu"

  • Its pronounced the way they say it in all the original animated series and movies in Japanese. Which is to say, - how the Japanese pronounce words that are spelt with the English Alphabet.

All the other pronouncations don't matter, they're all dubs.
