  • That's a cool little sub. I served almost four years on one. You remarked that you wanted reduction gears to extend battery life. That is interesting, because for the real thing it takes about four times more power to double speed, if memory serves. I would expect the same kind of ratio for that little one. And the real subs handle better submerged than surfaced, they go faster too.

  • Too bad this sub wasn't available in the 80s. It could have replaced the coke-can sub in the shield tank around the S1W reactor in Idaho Falls. If you were there, you know what I'm talking about.
