@MIHERMANOTE The sound gives you a better idea of what is happening inside. The more information you get about how the air is going in and out, the better. Just like a vocalist would get an idea of his singing technique from hearing his voice. It also "connects" different types of motoric centers in the brain. There are basically two centers for conscious motoric-skills. One for the body and one for the speech. And last: Your neighbours presume that you are freaking out! That´s the best part!

why does it say please do not practice? when we do do we really have to make that elephant sound that you made? because i remember one day in school a teacher showed us to make breathing exercises, he said its yoga. and so we did it like you, but we didn't have to make an elephant noise. im gonna start doing this again its completely obvious how breathing more oxygenates your body.

You should exhale through left nostril with Ujjayi Pranayam.. According to swami ramdev.

you are absolutely correct. However this is another variation of Ujjayi Pranayam.
