Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Beating the Black Knight

So besides being the toughest guy around with invincible armor, did you know that this knight can teleport wherever he likes? That's what you call "broken". Fortunately, he tells you of the one sword that can hurt him!

Yes, I know that those are long distance swords, I forgot and knew that Mist would be just one space away from being able to make escape because of it.

To beat him, you HAVE to get an Aether, otherwise you won't be able to beat him in time. So yeah, much of it is luck (although ironically you have to boost your "skill" stat to increase your chances).

Dude, no offense, but you should have maxed out your Ike before coming to this battle. Also giving Mist a psychic staff would've been wise. Don't get me wrong, you won, but this could have EASILY turned out differently.

...and it did - just didn't upload those. I don't think Mist was high enough a level to use that staff, and I think I did max out the stat that Ike needed most - the one that boosts his critical hit percentage.

It worked out though, so I've no complaints.

You don't NEED aether, you could use resolve and wrath.

@WhiteKhakis Ragnell gives+5 def, alondite gives something else +5 but i cant remember what skill

When i fought this boss my heart was pounding but the second i heard the Aether sound i was relieved

First time I beat him i didnt even have mist or any heals, I just was really lucky

Im with WhiteKhakis. My Mist sucks. I just equip Ike with a bunch of Elixers and take her completely out of the equation. Seems to work pretty well that way. You just keep healing until you finally hit enough Aethers to kill that fool.

actually a max streangth Ike can beat the black knight without aether as long as each attack hits and a bishop doesnt heal the black knight
