  • I love the throws of Judo they have its place in any fight. That is why some of the best BJJ instructors have black belts in Judo as well.I would love to see more MMA fighters use them because they are so effective. Most fighters rely on wrestling takedowns only.

  • Oda forgot more then the Gracie's will ever know!

Oda, Aida, Kawaishi etc. taught REAL JUDO, before it became a Shinbudo.

Glad to see it making a come back.

  • Lot's of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu hate on here. I'm a black belt in both. Real judo, not the currently practiced contest Judo, is very similar to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in newaza importance and application. Don't be hater because your brand of Judo is weak. It's a disservice to Judo and you are not Judoka due to your negative attitudes and your lack of understanding.

  • @SirRediazVh there is leg locks, its not allowed in BJJ. If you take a look at Kano's book, it has it. Better yet just go to judoinfo.com

  • @SuperBookworm365 there's no leg lock in judo. but it exist in BJJ

  • @BloodandBalls Let me correct you. Judo is second to Soccer in popularity in the world. Also, what we know as Japanese Jujitsu does not actually have a direct link to Jujutsu. Japanese Jujitsu was put toguether after WWII. LIke I said in my previous comment, Jujutsu was a dying art. Kano took Jujutsu and made it into a sport, thus preserving Jujutsus's soul. I like Japanese Jujitsu, but I wonder if they do randori..

  • @prodigioussuperstar What is pathetic is that brazilian gay jitsus can not even handle my grip!. and I suck at gripping. Last week I tossed some dude just by spiniing, No leg blocking, no hips, just my grip and a spin

  • @OVERCAPITALIZE Yes, He did! He saw some images of Carl Hotch (sorry for mispelling) doing a body slam and adapted into Judo. I think its called Te Guruma. I do the Te Guruma entry, but instead of picking up the opponent, I stand up and do an Ankle pick (Russian style).

  • @franciscoreatas11 He took the fireman carry from wrestling book he read and put it into judo.

  • I agree with all these comments ,Im not a fence sitter. The Gracie family are exceptional people. They above all people have taken all Jujitsu or Jiujitsu and taken it to the masses.

I like Judo to.But it never reached the dizzy heights BJJ an JJJ.are now experiencing. For this we all owe them much respect.Im just saying if it wasnt fo Japanese Jujitsu (JJJ) You wouldnt have Judo, without Judo you wouldnt have BJJ.There is no argument here.Just give the Samurai the respect.OSSSS

  • @BloodandBalls Kano took the techniques handed down from the 600+ dying Jujutsu schools and integrated the multiple vatiations of a technique into the most effective one. He also wanted to make Jujutsu safe enough for school children to practice, so he got rid of leg locks, bites to the face, kicks to the groin, many throws tha resulted in broken limbs, several neck breaking throws. The only thing that Jigoro added to Judo/Jujutsu was a leg block to one of the throws.

  • What see in these videos is what my sensei DAve calls classical Judo
