  • @jorappp and the GTI with a remap is faster than any GTD with any chip tuning....

  • I personaly think that all of you guys shouldn't consider the fuel consumption of those 2 cars and start thinking at the disadvantages of engine performance that the GTD has in front of the GTI:First the GTI has 270 BHP and the GTD has 170,Secondly the GTI has a plus of 2000 RPM for sprint in front of the GTD and Finally we all know that Diesel cars are slower at sprint in front of Gas cars , even if today Diesel cars can compete very well with Gas cars.RESPECT FOR GTD! Thumbs up if you agree;)

  • @charlesholzy sorry 1.72 is the cost of a liter of diesel

  • @GiulioGiorcelli that's

  • @charlesholzy tht'a why you don't see many sporty car with diesel engine here in Italy. By the way, you may be living in a country with stupid laws, but it's probably the best country in the world. Hope to live there one day

  • @charlesholzy Don't get me wrong! I totally respect the GTD! We're just seeing this thing from two different point of view. Here, in Italy, one liter of gas costs 1.75 euros. One liter of gas 1.72, the difference is pretty much inexistent; plus we have to pay an average of 1000 euros for 2.0-liters-engine insurance, instead of 600 for a 1.4. We also have a tax called "bollo" which is strictly related to the engine: a 2.0 liters pays 300 euros, a 1.4 190

  • @GiulioGiorcelli And while it is a lot of money for a 'diesel', it has its benefits. For example, I drove mine for a total of 6 hours and 39 minutes yesterday, including cruising on country roads at 120km/hr+ and also driving it on a race track for about 40-50 minutes fairly hard (with an average speed of 74km/hr for the entire day). And yet my average fuel consumption for the entire day was 6.9L/100km and I only used just over half a fuel tank. So I think some respect is needed

  • @GiulioGiorcelli I understand what you mean, but you have not experienced the over-nannied country that is Australia, with its shit and stupid laws. You need to pass a test after getting 100 hours experience on your L's, then have P's for three years, then straight onto opens. And btw, the car you have is not actually much quicker than a GTD, check the fastestlaps website and compare your Scirocco with a GTD to see...

  • @charlesholzy In that context it actually makes sense. I really like the GTD, but I would never pay so much money for 2.0 liters diesel engine. Wait a minute, what do you guys have to do in order to get an open license?
