@2girls1freak Now we are. This season was a flop; 450 man games lost, poor management, and big trades. It's fucking horrible even though we undoubtedly has a strong start.

@aidanday Before the lockout, was it not the same for the Avalanche? Colorado started to lose their expensive veteran core, and there was a transitional period in which they had to build up.
The league is getting younger, faster, and more talented. The two teams after Detroit won the cup exemplify that. The current winning formula is to get young, and it seems to be working pretty well for the Avs. Seven of our players are injured yet we still manage to win games with even younger call-ups.

@ebtricks It's so hard to finish every year - that's why they call it the toughest trophy in sports... You can argue about what constitutes a 'dynasty', but the Wings are the dominant NHL franchise of the last 15 years. They're legit contenders for the Cup literally every year... Colorado, Jersey and others (lately Chi/Pitt) have all been rivals at different times, but the Wings are *always* right there.
