There are a number of ways to correct a crooked or deviated septum. Your surgeon may simply remove the portion of the septum that is crooked and blocking the airway. If that isn't the best option, your surgeon may make small cuts or fractures in the septum and realign it to make it straighter. When this procedure is performed alone without any cosmetic reshaping of the nose, it's called septoplasty.

  • @Inzi007 Kl, Im 18 so I'd be alright.

    thanks

  • @tinytragik It seems quite the same as mine when the did it on me. I could not breath through my nose and could not sleep at all coz I was not used to breathing through mouth. You need to ask your doctor and also they don't do it on kids.

  • @Inzi007 How bad does it have to be before they will operate? mine looks quite bad, and i have to breathe through my mouth when sleeping, which dries out my mouth and lips.

  • @tinytragik Yeah from NHS. It was OK to be honest.

  • @Inzi007 Did you get it done on the NHS?

  • @tinytragik Yes, why?

  • @Inzi007 are u from the uk?

  • @zombetty92 You feel nothing mine was done under general anesthesia.

  • while on local anesthesia, can you hear or feel the things being done on your nose?that would be tramatizing......
