@22centman36 I don't think it is has anything to do with the 80's. Kids have always been terrible to other kids who were different or had something they could pick on. 80's or not. LOL Nerds have always been picked on I think, even back before the word "nerd" was even heard of.....

@tall32guy back in the 80's if you were a nerd, smart, goal oriented, and driven the ridicule was even worse.  I'm a nerd, always have been, but I'm also a bodybuilder so when tough guys get in my way, they find out soon that I'm not to be messed with. Of all the movies that hollywood remakes THIS one TRULY needs to be remade. This movie is TOTAL sh#t compared to the book. Even if you haven't read the book it would still be a crap movie.
