My name is Leslie Christin, and while many of you know me as the president of CARA Cosmetics, I want you to know the passion that drives my success.
From a very young age I dreamed of being a makeup artist, and shortly after High School I dropped out of college and decided to go to cosmetology school to become a professional makeup artist.
Much to my disappointment, I realized makeup was barely taught and the instructor's makeup knowledge was very limited. I knew then that I needed to further my career and education on my own.
Through years of commitment, perseverance, wonderful mentors as well as being at the right place at the right time my career as a makeup artist thrived and evolved from working in a salon to print work, television series and feature films. To now owning my own makeup line and a makeup studio.
Now, it all sounds simple, but this took me years of trial and error (now remember this is pre internet days!) I spent tens of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours taking classes, flying to workshops and assisting other artists for FREE to learn and create a program to:
■Attract new clients
■Deliver quality services to my clients and my staff
■Stay competitive and current with techniques and trends.
■Understand and deliver what my clients need and want.
■Protect my reputation and clientele (This is very important! They can imitate me but never duplicate me!)
■Charge more than the competition and leave clients happy.
As a lifelong makeup artist, I understand what it takes to get your career started, what products you need and how to begin or further your makeup career. My biggest satisfaction and commitment is to see a budding artist evolve, thrive and grow.
As a lifetime makeup artist, I believe education is the

In 2009 I hosted my first Business and Beauty Bootcamp. It was my longest most comprehensive seminar and it lasted 6 days, I had 22 people attend. My clients got such great results from my program—amazing self confidence and dramatic income increases—that word spread fast. So I have continued to host bootcamp classes in different parts of the country with students attending from all over the world!
