  • @JoeShmoeBlow Saying its geared toward a beer pocketbook, isnt really very accurate. Those guys were more inclined to buy 5.0 stang back then, or camaro. 951 was still not a cheap car then. Maybe geared more toward the VW crowd, but not avg joe.

  • @JoeShmoeBlow The 951 may have been assembled at Neckarsulm, but the 968 was assembled at Zuffenhausen. Its not about the the quality, and construction(which was way ahead of the curve then anyway), Its about balance, and platform layout. 951 is a more raw sports car, I dont really see or feel the build difference in its contemporary 911's. 928 was for the luxury, GT car. It resembles the 951/68 much more so.

  • @OwGod2 Yeah, the 968 ts/rs is one of the greatest Porsche ever IMO. The only other Porsche Id rather have is a 959, or 556 spyder, or CGT. Ok maybe a GT1. For a car Id want to drive daily...968 ts hands down. No contest. I like a sleeper on the streets.

  • @Piperporsche180944

Porsche 911 isn't best in Porsche, 911 handles crap , Under steers, Pushes, loses rear Trackion, I know this because my old man has 7 of them, the best porsche that was ever created was probs the 968 , only 12,000 of them Made, why ? because they we're better, porsche didnt want the 911 look shit beside the 968 on the track. But by saying that its all up to the driver, but I completely Agree on what your saying about 944,

Where about to race 944 :)

  • ahha, We've got a mate at T.N.D thats got a Porsche 994 Non-turbo but with a super charger pumping 460hp to the wheels, no Internal Porting, or crank sharft work, all stock appart from Exhaught , for Porsche Cup.

Btw.... Turbo 944 would have smoked that Rice Burner, let alone 944 with a 968 3.0L non turbo engine in it. :D Porsche is probs one of the oldest faster cars on earth :) with a great History of winnings.

  • 145 Ps gegen 286 Ps ???? thats a joke its a small old Porsche .

  • A 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo sold for $50,000 brand new, the 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo sold for $48,000 and the 928 S4 sold for $75,000.

Your wrong about the 944 never comparing to the 911. The 944 turbo has a higher top speed than a 911 turbo, handles better and has similar acceleration. The 944 NA was a entry level sports car, the 944 Turbo, 911 Turbo and 928 S4 were the 3 flagships of Porsche at the time. The 944 Turbo was developed to replace the 911.

  • either way, porsche 911's still went for over 80k even back then. Roughly 3 or more times the cost of the 944. Again, I am simply explaining that the 944 can in no way be compared to a 911 in quality and construction. The 944 is geared toward your average joe enthusiast with a beer pocketbook

  • Forgive me, I was looking at 2005 Infiniti G35 used car prices and added $10,000 to that amount.

The average family income per year in 1985 was $31,000, $27,000 spent on that car would be 87% of the household income.

$55,000/year is the current individual average income, $38,000 is also a hefty price, 69% of the individuals income.

  • Umm your way off on that. The sticker price on mine new was 38k with all the options. When I say "poor man's porsche", I am referring to the fact that porsche is not known for selling 26k cars. The Average porsche is over 80k new. Most people can not afford a car that price
