  • They should have used a double hose reg those old work horses never freeze up

  • @s1weir His demand valves froze, they were 10 degrees colder than they could handle. He probably passed out attempting to get his air flowing and stopped breathing.

  • SOUND WAS AWFUL

  • Saltwater doesnt freeze at 0 degress C dumbass! Normally around -2 to -3 degrees C. I icedive every year, so I should know! ;-)

  • stupid, water bellow the ice is warmer than the air above.

If water will be bellow 0*C there will be an ICE instead of water... simple phisics law

  • Hard to believe. Do you have back-up documentation. When did this accident occurr. Who shot the footage Where was it filmed. Who was the diver? Why is there nothing on Goggle News about this?

  • Well, in that enviroment, I sure hope they were using enviromentally sealed regulators... I'm kind of surprised they weren't using full face masks though(from a comfort, and avoiding frostbite point of view).

A number of issues could have contributed, anything from hypothermia, to shock/hypoxia due to vasoconstriction or a hood that sealed too tight, to just plain old heart attack. I have a feeling the cause would be less of a mystery if his first stage had been frozen.

  • Too much cold could have damaged the air cylinder regulator's internal part !!
