I'm not sure if I am exactly clear in my statement. Read up on the last 70 years of Cuban history and you will understand the reasons for the embargo now in place by the United States.

The USA has an economic embargo on Cuba since the late 1950s or early 1960s because of Fidel Castro and the Cubans in Florida that want to keep an economic embargo on the island until Fidel gives up power. They hold a grudge on Fidel for taking away the "rich peoples" land and property...some of it owned by the mafia and corrupt officials. They don't like the socialist system now in place that has provided free health care, education, the caring for newborn babies, etc.
That is the main reason.
