Dr. Dave and Tom Ross show how to aim cluster break-out shots in pool using the tangent line, 30-degree rule, and the trisect system, for all shots in between the reference directions. This is an example shot from Disc I of "The Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots" (VEPS). The VEPS series includes over 750 shots in 50 different categories, with over 250 "gems" of the game. The series is the most comprehensive collection of pool shots ever published. Disc I covers basic shot making and position control.

  • How do I know if my fingers have the correct angle?

  • @Eptapus

See my video NV B.66. For more info and help, see the FAQ page dealing with the "30-degree rule peace-sign technique" on my website (you can Google the quoted text to find it quickly).

    Good luck,

    Dr. Dave

  • @Eptapus if she starts acting like she is having a Seizure, then your fingers are doing great.. but be carefull not to scrath in the hole.. that will get you out of the game!!

  • @crrazyy

    You're welcome!

    I aim to squerve,

    Dr. Dave

  • @DrDaveBilliards thanks for the responses.

i like to play pool alot and your videos are awesome!

  • @crrazyy

Since the CB is fairly close to the OB a hit slightly above center is required (at the speed used for the shot). With a below-center hit, the CB would move closer to the tangent line (and even wider with slight bottom spin at OB impact).

  • :54 i meant

  • @DrDaveBilliards on this vid, 0:59 shouldnt it be slight draw instead with medium speed?

  • That's a generous offer.

    Thanks,

    Dr. Dave
