http://www.dreamtown.com Some call it the "best kept secret in Chicago." While many residents have lived in North Center for 30 years, a new wave of interest is sweeping over this neighborhood. A recent redevelopment and revitalization of older properties is opening up North Center to residents who like a less congested community. Spacious lots allow homes to have backyards - a rare find in the city. And while the area is still somewhat under the radar, a lively nightlife and a thriving dining and shopping district cater to all its residents' needs. http://www.dreamtown.com/neighborhoods/north-center.html
S'okay. I live in North Center and I would have to agree that there is more of a "neighborhood" feel, since the population density is much lower than, East Lakeview, for example. Lots of families and single family homes in the area. It's not the cheapest neighborhood to buy into, but if you can afford it, its also pretty good. Its also not the flashiest, but for that you can hop on bus or the El.
