Atheism a Militant and Bigoted Ideology? Bill Maher Demonstrates

Bill Maher on his HBO show "REAL TIME" discusses Atheism with his panel of guest. Atheist are fond of saying Atheism is ONLY the unbelief in God and religion. OK. So Atheist are passive sweet loving people respectful of others beliefs and religion? Atheists have nothing to say about religion? No in fact they have a lot to say and it is ALL BAD! In fact to hear it from Bill Maher, all Christians are delusional morons. All bad things in the world are caused by religion. Of course he makes no distinction between Christianity or Islam or any other religion. I agree if we are talking Islam in 2010, Islam, muslims, Islamic terrorist are the biggest threat in the world today. Islam is not Christianity. Islam is the only religion that has a god that says to Jihad, fight and kill for him, to die to spread islam so Islam will dominate all people and religion. The Greater Jihad is for any who resist islam or refuse to submit or become subjugated by Islam. There is no parallel in any other religion. If a Muslims refutes this they are lying.

Unlike Islam where apostasy, criticism and blasphemy is against islamic law, punishable by death, even if you are not a Muslim, Christianity and Christians can take criticism, if it's honest and relevant. Bill Maher is a typical hypocritical prejudicial bigot, using stereotypes and lies. He truly hates Christianity. So why do Atheists attack Christians who are not flying planes into buildings and give Muslims a pass?

To undermine or criticize Islam would embolden Christianity may be. That is unacceptable to Atheists. Both Islam and Atheism is anti-Christ. They have that in common.

If you were satan and wanted to ruin religion and lead people away from Jesus what would you do? Masquerade as religion and do vile things and say Christianity was evil and a sin. Both Atheists and Islam says Christ is not God and to believe in the teachings of Jesus is bad.

How can we prove or disprove? Look at the world. Christians are doing charity for all people around the world. Muslims are committing heinous acts of terrorism daily world wide. Atheists? They just attack Christians and claim they are superior and say freedom of thought and religion is bad.

America was founded by Christians. What would America be like if Muslims or Atheists founded it?

Whether Christianity, or any of the other religions, helps people, is totally irrelevant to the fact that they are deluding themselves. As is the level of their intelligence.

Theists get annoyed with being called deluded, but actually it's the nicest thing you can say about people who choose magical thinking over rational thought.

It's extremely relevant to judge people by actions. Christians DO charity, help the world! Atheist SUE over "Merry Christimas" and Crosses.. According to the American Psychiatric magazines Christians enjoy great health benefits adv over the irreligious. Other studies show Atheism and mental illness. We see and hear what you do and say. Sam Harris admits the stigma of ATHEISM is bad, not to even call yourself atheist because it's next to CHILD MOLESTER as a designation!

Im an atheist. I think Bill Maher is sometime disrespectful to religion. And he knows that. Religion has had its opportunity; now its science's turn. Keep your spirituality and get rid of your religion (because of course they are completely different) You made a comment about how atheists aren't open minded about freedom of religion. I'd like to see a devout religious person sit through a debate about evolution without denying it (since the only proof their religion is true is their holy book)

Christians are more optimistic, live longer, heal faster, more likely to marry and have kids compared to atheists. Studies show atheist have mental illness, anti social, anti authority, commit suicide more, likely to be overweight, die young. ~40% of atheists never marry or have kids. We now know natural selection & mutation does NOT add DNA info. Never seen one species become another. "Speciation" or variation WITH IN a species? True. @geeflyboy Does not increase, but it can alter genetic info. Btw, we actually HAVE seen evolution happen in our time. Lizards, insects, even birds have been observed undergoing significant changes to their genetics over a time span of 50 generations or so, when they were put into a totally different environment.

@geeflyboy You make it seem as though taking something by faith is a good thing. It really, really isn't. Believing something without evidence is gullible. Science is not. It seeks proof for everything it claims by doing repeatable experiments. In one of these, scientists replicated the circumstances in which they thought life could originate. And, indeed very complex chemical organic molecules were found. These are the building blocks of life. Science is on its way to explain the origin of life
