Ancient Persia Persepolis 512 BC - ایران باستان

The ancient Persians were hardcore Zoroastrians.

In 512 BC Darius the Great started construction on a palace that would serve as the summer palace of the Persian Empire. In the 1930's archeologists excavated a portion of that palace which has been brushed off and become Iran's ticket to becoming a major tourist destination. Too bad tourist visas cost $300 USD.

I always admired the great Persian empire and I am an American. Persia today is enslaved by Islam, which did not exist when Persia was a great wonder of the ancient world. Just look at the beautiful artifacts and architecture of this ancient civilization of 3000 years ago.

@Taimoor1989 Actually I strongly disagree with that statement .. Its time ancient Persia get its respect globally .. History sheds a evil light on its empire cuz of the bias information . Its one of the greatest empires ever forged and yet its barely mention . Its defeats and its end are well documented . The Persian empire should be known for it unity and strength as a fair and just empire ..

I think it is about time that Iranians stop making videos about Ancient Persia and look forward to the future. They should invest their energies in a Pan-Iranian cause to unite the lands from Indus to Tigris.

There has been about enough effort to glorify Zarathustra, Cyrus, Darius, Artemisia, Mithradates, Surena, Shapur etc.

It is more important to reconcile the various Iranian peoples such as Baloch, Kurds, Pashtuns, Persians and Tajiks. Start making videos which can help such a cause!

i love history, but how do they get off making images, now one really knows what anyone looked like in those times. Look at egypt you would think the people there now look like the ancients... well we know thats not true lol .... but anyhow... thats another story.
