In Lesson 1 we begin by logging into the router and creating an admin password making sure know one but you can get into the routers configuration. We then go through the settings required to get the router and the modem to connect to each other. Next we go to the wireless network settings and make changes so that only your computers can get onto the network. We will connect our computers to the router and get them online in Section 4.

  • will verizon fios be Dynamic ip?

  • @WhatiDoWhenBoredv2 I believe FIOS from Verizon does give you a dynamic ip.

  • In the instructions, mine says "admin" and "admin". It started to work but then put me to 401 Unauthorized and won't let me in again.

  • @ganyuehan Its hard to say what happened. The first thing I would try is reseting the router back to factory defaults which will make the user and pass admin again. To do this look for a recessed reset button on the router and use a paper clip to hold it down for at least 10 seconds. The router will reset and should allow you back in.

  • ok, i've already connected the router and modem, but the problem is when i trying connect the router with my laptop, there is no connection! but when i directly connect the modem to my laptop, they are connected. what happen?? i want to install and configure my router...

    can you help me please??

  • @firsanilyas You need to connect the Ethernet cabled from the Ethernet port on the modem to the WAN or Internet port on the router. You then use a second Ethernet cable to connect the router to your computer (laptop or desktop). This Ethernet cable goes from one of the LAN ports on the router to the Ethernet port on your computer. You should then be able to go to the router address in your browser, shown in this video, and configure it.

  • if anyone needs help setting up give me a message!

  • @hayden123601 Your routers configuration utility will be a little different from the ones shows in these videos but the steps you need to go through are the same. Watch this video and the next one, part 2 and you will know how to configure your router. Connecting your laptop wirelessly to your router is no different from connecting to any other wireless access point. We do have videos, sections 4 and 5, that walk you through getting all your devices connected and online on our website.
