Reza Pahlavi On Israel

HM Reza Pahlavi speaking at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council about Israel in summer 2010, insinuating that since Iran (through Cyrus the Great) once saved and liberated the Jews, Israel should come to the aid of the Iranian people who are trying to regain their freedom. He states: "If I remember correctly, Cyrus the Great is the one king most quoted in the Torah (Bible) and there are special prayers to him every Sabbath." and continuing: When Iranians seeking freedom chant let's concentrate on Iranians instead of focusing on the situation with the Palestinians, they are asking the Iranian regime to set its priorities straight. Maybe for having saved the Jewish people once, Iranian people can ask the Jews/State of Israel to now return the favor and help them regain their freedoms and overcome the tyranny of the current Iranian regime.

To continue responding to Hesam with his BS. There was no such thing as Syria until after 1917 when the Ottoman Empire which held the region lost it to Britain and France. Canaan is the only name used by the Philistines of the Bible (a nation that has been extinct for thousands of years) to refer to the land of Israel. Canaan has nothing to do with the present-day Arabs who claim to be Palestinians. The Kingdom of Israel preceded the so-called Palestinians (Arabs living in Israel) and Syria.

I think you wish he said that so you have a reason to hate him. but the reality is Mr. Pahlavi does'nt want any one to attack iran. By the way Cyrus didn't save the Israel, there was no Israel, Cyrus saved the Hebrew slaves from Babylonians after conquering them then rebuilt their temple. The 5000-10,000 local jews of 500BC belonged to Palestine/Canaan/Syria. Majority of today's 5.5 million Israelis are just German, Polish, Russian, American and Middle-eastern illegal migrants and occupiers.

It's pathetic of Reza to ask Israel to attack his own people so he can take the kingdom back. He can't mean any other "Saving the Iranian people" other than "attacking IRI" which equals attacking Iran at this time.
