The definitive tribute film for legendary writer Elmore Leonard, screened at the 1st Annual Elmore Leonard Literary Arts and Film Festival on November 13, 2010 at the Community House in Birmingham, MI.
Included are clips from the films Hombre, The Tall T, Valdez is Coming, Joe Kidd, Mr. Majestyk, The Big Bounce (1969 and 2004), 3:10 to Yuma (1957 and 2007), Get Shorty, Be Cool, Out of Sight, Jackie Brown, Touch, and the TV show Justified, as well as interviews from Quentin Tarantino and Graham Yost, a congratulations from Michael Connelly, and remarks from George Pelecanos, Don Imus, Mike Lupica, Emery King, Martin Scorcese, and Roger Ebert.
I thought the "Get Shorty" adaptation was a bit "campy." It gave it a weird feel. I don't think there's any question that "Rum Punch," was the best adaptation. There's just something about QT and Dutch, they go hand and hand

They sure did, pardner. I can't recall the episode number, but the one where Winona was being threatened by the Dixie Mafia enforcer in her own home was taken from "52 Pick-Up", which is my favorite Elmore Leonard novel

That first scene was taken out of Pronto, except Raylan has to deal with a mafiosa from Italy rather than this guy. Justified did this quite a bit, adapting scenes and short stories around the show (the third episode of the first season 'Fixer' was a blatant adaptation of Riding the Rap).
