Just a great song. Saw Ian & Mick play together several times throughout the 70's and 80's including the original Hunter/Ronson gig at the Hammy Odeon in 1975 promoting Ian's new solo album. That show will stay in my memory for ever. Ronson's guitar playing was just awesome, especially on the track " The whole Truth". If you're in the UK check out Ian's short tour in October 2012; he is still doing the business and very few contemporary bands would be able to shake a stick at him.

Song has everything, humour, real balls without bulshit macho posturing, great saloon bar piano Ian Hunters unique voice and Mick Ronson's guitar is just electrifying. Love the way the song lets rip at 1.42. Have to agree with you sawbird definitely could be the best song of the seventies. Havent heard it in ages always reminds of hitchhiking in Northern Ireland in1975! Just heard Great White's..most try harder boys. Question, is there a song on youtube that has attracted mention of the Bieber :)

Just brilliant.....!

the 'hook' on this song for me is Ronno wringing that solo note after the lead solo into the chorus (around the 3 minute mark)--still gives me chills--God I miss Ronno--Ian is still great in concert at 72--saw him again in CLE this past fall
