@activdot There is a new Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Gettysburg, PA. Last year was the first year, and the youth production of Pirates of Penzance was wonderful. This year the kids are performing Mikado. 2011 festival runs 6/24-7/3 (Patience is my favorite too)

My favorite G & S show, but the whole point is to poke fun at the Aesthetic movement, so these costumes make no sense.

I like all G and S but Patience is definitely my favorite maybe not the very best but I love It . This production may have a few faults, but it's a kids production, and I'm glad to see you all get into the sprit of things

I kind of agree, but you don't have to be so harsh about it. Actually, the only thing I agree with is the outfits. What ARE they wearing??

the bunthorne has a great voice for this

This is great to find something like this on youtube.
I'm making my Gilbert and Sullivan debut next Friday (21st)after not being able to do the Mikado in March/April. I'm the youngest at only 15 which i'm kneeling and running after men a lot.

What's with the ladies with Pinafore costumes?
My late husband and I were lucky enough to see almost all of G & S's operettas, including Princess Ida, Ruddigore, Trial by Jury, The Sorcerer, etc. I like all of them, but still Patience is a favorite. There was a summer group in Wilton, CT that performed a G & S operetta every summer. Their productions were the best that I have ever seen. The performers were high school and college students; the director was a magician. The program was discontinued several summers ago, sad to say.

I've done Yeoman of the Guard, Iolanthe, Patience, Pirates of Penzance (twice), The Gondoliers, Trial by Jury, and The Zoo. Of the ones I haven't done I'd particularly like to do Ruddigore and The Mikado.

Patience is one of my favorite Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

I really like Ruddigore, I think cause it was the one they did the year before I joined the company and I always regretted missing out on it.
