RELOADED, NOW IN SYNC. Brook Lee, Ms. Universe 1997, introduces a documentary project about Japan and Korea's historical ceramic connections. Doesn't sound very sexy, but it's about an untold story of the abduction of thousands of Korean potters by Japanese war generals in the 1590s. Japan went on to make ceramic history; Korea's grand ceramic legacy of some 2,000 years got lost in this transfer of technology and labor (the backs of Korean potters). It's time to tell this story and set the historical record straight. No matter how one debates this story - were they really abducted?? -- it's indisputable that Korean's influenced Japan's ceramics.
