  • I know what you mean Leonidaskavakos, I thought he played this too slow also. I personally like it played 'up to speed' which gives it a more brilliant sound, over a slower, more introspective approach as he does here.

  • This is from his studio recording that was released on CD with the other five sonatas. So no, he is not practicing, ha. The other is a live recording of an encore at a music festival following his performance of the Dvorak violin concerto. I, for one, prefer the slower tempi in his recording. The encore is a bit showy.
