You can get similar images but you won't get the exact image. Phillip Bloom was using a Canon 20x HD Lens with this cam. The EX3 comes with a Fugion 14x HD lens.
I thought he was using a 35mm adapter because of the DOF and Vignetting, But that was done in post.
It's just red, and orange in general for some reason. They are very vibrant and bright colors that tend to have a lot of bleed to them, plus its not 4:2:2 color space ... if you want that, get an HVX200 or another Panasonic that has that color space. The EX series is only HDV at 4:2:0 color space, not true broadcast color, like their Cinealta is.
Notice the buses window. The red around it is pixelated up against the contrasting lines of the window frame. (yes I notice this stuff)
Can anybody explain to me why this happens? I have a wedding video that I did where the contrasting lines of a girls red shirt against the background shows this pixelation as well.
the footage i've seen from the red is fantastic. That camera is a good bit beyond prosumer (price/features) in my opinion. I am no pro myself but if I had the money and the sure bizz I would go for it.
None.. I ended up ordering an HV-30 from B&H. I'm going to use the HV for a bit and save up for the Panasonic AG-HMC150. The HMC has all the features I want and it's tapeless..I hear it has the widest lens in its class too
