Even then, everyone who heard it had to sing. Play this, anywhere in America, at any time, and people tend to join in. And then, there's a lot of smiles, followed by a kind of wistful silence. Plenty of profound music being made today; lots of shite, too. But there's no denying the zeitgeist and gravity in this deceptively-bouncy little ditty.
