I'd like to point out that the "jesses" or whatever had nothing to do with me. I'm just the guy holding the hawk. Blame the handler(who I do not know personally) if you have a problem with any equipment shown here. For the record, this particular bird had no problem whatsoever and was perfectly safe.

My mum bought me a hunting day for my birthday. So same sorta thing but i bet mine were more fun :P (not that haveing a normal falconry day isnt fun)

holy jesses and heavy bells. The admirable mstr. who taught me got me used to short & stubby, frustrating to work with but teaches you to be nimble fingered & much safer for the birds & they won't be as likely to pick them out. It's tempting to want to make them long in the beginning but not smart.
