This is a very beautiful elevator. I believe these are Schindler elevators. Please correct me if I am wrong. I was only able to go up to the 4th floor. You need a room key to access floors 5-19. In my opinion, this really stinks!!! I hate it when Hotels lock the floors so that Elevator enthusiasts can't enjoy an elevator ride all the way up to the top. Why can't they just leave the elevators alone? Here's what I would do if I owned a High-Rise Hotel: All of the Guest Room Floors will have a Locked Security Door when you come off the elevators. Your guest room key is required in order to access the hallway to your guest room. But you can enjoy riding the elevator up to the top floor. Is that a great idea or what?
From what I saw in the elevator anyone going from the 5-19th floors of this hotel is required to use their key card to get to their designated floor. I dont know why they do it but I was hoping when I went there today that I could go to the 19th floor and see the view of Lancaster from the top floor but after I saw the sign I didnt want to take any chances.

I read your description. It seems as though every hotel with those Schindler HT fixtures on a 400A have all of the floors locked. Anyways, they do that because it is cheap, efficient, and legal considering fire code, although somewhat ineffective towards tailgating if there is no security system backing it up. What you said is a fire code issue. If you had security doors on every floor, you would have to make a stairwell accessible from the elevator lobby.
