Blatantly, McCain is NOT for gay equality. He doesn't believe in same-sex marriage or alternative means for homosexuals. Hell, the asshole even supports Don't Ask, Don't Tell - how is he the same as the president?

Obviously, Carrie is against same-sex marriage, but by joining the National Organization of Marriage, she is in favor of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Also, when asked about civil unions / gay adoption, she HINTS at equality by alternative means, but responds with "I'm not a politician" - she doesn't know anything about either topic - so we can assume she knows nothing and cannot agree with the president.

Since marriage in western cultures it mostly bases on Christian belief (religion is bollox in my opinion). The problem is as Obama have said that civil union between gay couples have no legal rights as marriage has.

Civil union is a joke right now and I hope Obama keeps to his word and give the same rights civil union should have.

I'm pretty sure there are some aspects of marriage that christians here in the U.S.A. don't even follow, so I don't see why the sudden uproar over homosexuals getting married.

...But what I simply don't understand is how Obama has the power, force the states, to give gays civil unions!

I believe he'll leave the issue up to the states, allow the LGBT community to seek marriage, while he handles the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act.

Supporting a civil union is nothing but a farce!
