I just have a small 30 gal. biocube but I'm tired of going to the lfs to buy RO/DI. Is this the system you would recommend for me? What about adding a booster pump? How important is this and what exactly does the booster pump do?

This is one of our most popular units for that type of use. It is a basic system that comes with a pair of adapters for connecting to kitchen faucets as well as utility sink/garden hoses. Its really designed for small tanks where you are going to connect and disconnect it each time you make water. It lacks an auto shut off valve for a more permanent installation with a float valve or similar device. If going that route, the 5 stage plus is our most popular unit by far.

The necessity of a booster pump depends on your water pressure. Water pressure is the most important factor that determines how well the RO unit is going to work. Almost every unit we sell uses the 75GPD Dow Filmtech membrane, which requires 50psi to work correctly. If your water pressure is too low, you will want a booster pump to make the unit work correctly. If you already have 50psi or higher, then it is unnecessary.

@hemilton1982 it will make the $40 membrane last longer but you don't "have to"
