Jack screw - screw jack however you say it ; easy way to save a lot of money. I priced the factory manufactured ones at Lowe's and they were around 30 bucks each. I have about $3.50 into each one. 3/4 inch steel all thread 3/4 inch gas/butane pipe for house 3X3 plate steel and 3/4 inch nuts (the most expensive part). I made 40 in one day, so not too hard to do.
I believe the plate is 1/4". I actually just bought what the metal yard had in there cut/bent pile. I did not make any holes in the plate. There was a slight amount of side shifting on one of the plates, but out of 36 I would say thats pretty good odds. It shifted about 1/2". I did think about drilling holes, but decided not too because I figured the pressure would hold it. Thanks for the response!!!

It has been awhile since I put these in. They were pretty easy to install. I tried to cut the vertical 4X4 to length so I only had 1'' or so of actual travel. I crawled under the other day for an inspection. I had to adjust about half of them as the house had shifted and settled. I hand tightened them then turned 1/8 more with wrench. Please post and tell me what you think!!!
