A.F AIRO OLI KENRAALI JOKA PITI "lankoja" käsissään...

@Kuhlfurst No hyväksytään sitten tuo mitä sanoit. Katoin eilen jonkun dokkarin jatkosodasta, siinä kerrotaan useampaakin otteeseen miten yksittäiset upseerit (oikeastaan ilman tarvittavia oikeuksia) ottivat reservistä ryhmän kaksi, ja veivät minne apua tarvittiin. Esimerksillistä toimintaa!
-
@TheRomanRuler No pistetään sitten suomea :D

@Kuhlfurst "If I recall correctly he was in favor of giving in to Soviet demands in 1939" I think it was otherwise.. He demanded more money to army, and clearly doing so, refused any demands..
Ja muute, miks me puhutaa englantii, molemmat on Suomen kielisii :D

@TheRomanRuler Like I said Mannerheim was important in Finnish history but his role is greatly overrated. It is said that he single handedly saved Finland in WW2 which is not right. If I recall correctly he was in favor of giving in to Soviet demands in 1939 which would have led to occupation of Finland, like happened to the Baltic nations.
-
@Kuhlfurst But Marshal Mannerheim build Finnish army almost from nothing, all he got, were 200 (less) Jaegers trained in Prussia. And some conscripts and White Guards (opposite of Red guard)
-
@antikoerper256 I prefer to give credit to the fighting Finnish soldier than an aging marshal. Mannerheim was influential in Finnish history but don't overestimate his importance at the expense of the other great men (and women!) who defended this country.
-
yuo are both wrong, mannenerhein's full name is Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerhein.
-
@antikoerper256 Sure, your country's "handicapped" for you didn't have the senile tzarist cavalry-officer that we had to save our asses. I wonder where we'd be had Mannerheim not been an alcoholic. Probably beyond the Urals.
besides, it's Gustaf Mannerheim
It took a bit more effort to make it here than what Mannerheim had to offer. The people saved themselves. And the way you laud Finland, it's bloody hilarious. The West and the Progress, a paradize flickering in the horizon..
-
Finland owes everything to Carl Mannerheim. He saved the whole country from total communist control thus giving Finland the rare chance to be peaceful, pro-western oriented and most of all progressing country.
Great!

This march has a history; the silver horns (hopea torvet, pluralis) of the Marshall of Suomi (Finland) do really exist. Otherwise, I really find this march superb, it is in the world class, though quite unknown.
