Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): Klavierübung II Ouverture nach französischer Art (French Overture/Partita b minor) BWV 831 Ouverture Rosalyn Tureck (1914-2003), piano Recorded in 1959.
The recordings that Rosalyn Tureck made in the late 50s and early 60s remain for me some of the most glorious piano playing I have ever heard. Happily they were mostly reissued on Phillips Great Pianists of the Century collection. Her piano tone, her wonderful rhythmic subtlety, her understanding of ornaments and unsurpassed contrapuntal playing will always be musical greatness for me. I hope many people hear your postings and enjoy them.
