After a long period of just sitting in the display case I finally made the time to get my 1/3 scale 302 Ford V8 engine running again. I made an entirely new distributor and points along with a different cap. I think the ignition problems are sorted out I just have to get the carburetion fine tuned. This video is the first one taken with all the changes. I only have it running at one speed till I figure out what adjustments are needed.

  • man! can find anything kits or completes for less then 5 grand. =( guess ill just buy a foxbody

  • @Spiegel420

You have to understand the amount of hours that goes into building something like this. Even if it was done with CNC the amount of hours to machine, finish and fit parts at even say $15 dollars an hour makes them extremely expensive. Mine was machined by hand and I have somewhere around 2500 hours in it. Multiply that times whatever hourly rate from $25-$65 an hour and you end up with big dollars.

  • what is the first engine you ever made like to get into build engine wondering were to start thanks

  • @richardarichter123

I started with small steam engines. Naturally they were nothing like this engine. I had about 20 years experience when I started on this engine.

  • Why do you call it a 302 when it is obviously a 100.6?

  • man all that work and ur just going to throw a 2 stroke rc carb on it? make a mini demon carb lol

  • I wished I could put that into my old tercel

  • Too bad it's not 1/3 scale horsepower.

  • @JoeyMisanthropy It's intuitive to think it would be a 302 ci / 3 since it's a 1/3 scale... but if you divide the bore by 3 and the stroke by 3, the cubic inches is actually divided by 9. So 302 / 9 = 33.5 ci!

  • @gbritnell 302/3=100.6666666666666

  • so, how many horses does it put out?

  • @JoeyMisanthropy because it is a scaled 302

  • @gbritnell 100.6= 1/3 (Scale) of 302

  • @JoeyMisanthropy huh? wtf dude...... 302/3=100,666~7. but it is YOUR humour that is so bad, that NOBODY get's that bad joke....

  • @maxpower700 Really? Your math skills are as well developed as your sense of humor.
