Daniel Rossman of the Wilderness Society asks federal officials to support the creation of a national recreation area in the San Gabriel Mountains. The Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriels provides 70% of the open space in Los Angeles County, including recreation, biking, hiking and fishing. The San Gabriels provide 1/3 of the drinking water. Wilderness designation would add 30,000 acres and 44 miles of wild and scenic rivers. Daniel spoke at the America's Great Outdoors event at Whittier Narrows Regional Park.
