This is a peer review of the Bedini version of the Hammel spinner as described here: http://keelynet.com/gravity/bedham1.htm
(And many other places. Seek and ye shall find.)

Do not misunderstand me here. I have a tremendous respect for the work of great men such as John Bedini and Tom Bearden. BUT such things as this spinner could serve to discredit them if they do not explain the forces at work here.

While POSSIBLE this device MIGHT demonstrate a magnetic Vortex or Gate; due to OTHER actions such as common magnetic attraction of a South Pole to a North pole, PLUS the action of a round ball pulled across a smooth surface, PLUS centrifugal forces, it does appear that the Bedini / Hamel spinner is NOT a good demonstration tool. And might lead people to assume it is doing something that it is NOT.

Through the process of elimination, all the way down to just the ball itself, this video demonstrates that it is the action of the ball against the surface that causes the spin and NOT any magnetic forces at all.

Some have also proposed that it is possible for the spinner to run continuously IF set up on a proper rig. While this MIGHT be possible, I have yet to see one that works continuously. And such a device will likely need other modifications, besides a mechanical rig, to operate. Such as electronic pulsed circuits.

So why bother? Just build a regular Bedini SSG motor!

Please review the video, try your own experiments and learn for yourself. And I would LOVE to see video of a Hamel spinner operating for an extended period of time WITHOUT human intervention.

Thank you for watching.

  • Hi! You didn't try to turn around the ring magnet - i think it should spin the other way when you do that, but you can't make it spin the other way with the stick thing, can you?

  • @kapierenundkopieren This was all done in the later videos.

  • have i missed something? i thought that hammels principle was based on "wieght into speed", namely the ocillations setup by the ball and magnet arrangement the inherent instabillity creates a situation of perpetual motion. the ball at all times trying to maintain it's equilibrium is in a constant state of "fall". i have pondered what the hammel system may mean to free energy. i think people are sidetracked by the gate itself.

  • The ball actually spins better WITHOUT oscillations. Works best at a right angle and pulled in straight line. And this can be accomplished without a magnet.

I have seen no evidence of perpetual motion from this device and I believe no such evidence exists.

The ONLY time I can keep it running is under the continual influence of my hands. I have also seen no evidence this device demonstrates any gate and I believe no such evidence exists.

And, yes, I believe many people have been sidetracked.

  • Good video.

You should point out that the disk and ball assembly needs to lean over to cause the rotation. The trick is that the point of contact between the ball and the surface has to be a little off the axis of rotation. This is how the sideways motion causes the torque that causes it to spin.

  • It requires nearly imperceptible "lean over". To the naked eye, the axis appears perpendicular to the flat surface. The mind says the ball wants to roll, but, in fact, it spins when held upright by magnetic force or a simple stick. I have seen no evidence that a Hamel spinner will operate continuously without human interaction. It's simple magnetic attraction & interaction of a ball on a surface. So abandon this toy to learn & build a more useful Bedini SSG monopole energizer instead! :)

  • Quite excellent video - Explains the concept very well - I understand now

  • The Scientific Method At Its Best.

    Bravo!

  • Or better yet, put big wheels on the back of your car so it is always rolling down hill.
