Roland Schoeman Wins 50-meter Butterly

Ace sprinter Schoeman put South Africa on the top step of the podium with a tearaway victory in the men's 50 metres butterfly. Schoeman, who sped to a 50 butterfly and 50 freestyle golden double at the 2005 worlds, dominated the race, sweeping home in a single breath in 23.18, outside his own 22.96 world record but out of reach of his rivals. Um no one can swim that fast.......Only professionals can....im a swimmer and i swim 50 meters in 31 secs and i won all the other girls who i was competing....so yeah 24 is super fast!!!!!!!!!!

@gorakigian It's possible but I'm pretty sure you only did a 25, because you're not in swimming. It was probably still one length of a pool, but a smaller pool. :) Good job though!

Hi i did 24 seconds in 50 meters crol, i don't understan, im not in swiming classes and nothing, do you think is fast?

Yeah, but the last time I checked, I can't do what Schoeman can do - and I respect him for it. He's obviously put in the hard work and it's payed off. Respecting him doesn't mean I don't respect other people. I can do things that he can't and he does things that I can't. Much respect to him and those like him.

I don't get what you're saying... Should we not respect them because they're 'stars' and get enough recognition already??? OR - We shouldn't respect their achievements, at all, because they're not important??

Why do you people ALWAYS have to take something away from others??? Roland Schoeman is an awesome swimmer just accept it already! Why do you have to be salty? Gosh! It's annoying. Just appreciate Schoeman's effort instead of trying to peg him down!! Phelps is an awesome swimmer, the best the world's seen and I respect him for it. You should show other athletes the same courtesy because they work for everything they achieve.
