T-Mobile G2: loose hinge

This is what my T-Mobile G2 does after just about one week with the phone. The hinge is extremely loose to open and close, and the phone opens by itself all the time -- even in my pocket! I can't imagine how the phone will treat me in one month or one year.

@uniqueCD4ya HSPA+ is actually quite fast if you look at test runs. But the G2 does have problems of its own; however, whether that's enough to stop people from buying the phone is up to them to decide.

this hinge issue is different for each phone. i've had mine for 2 wks and it's not this looks but it's also not super tight... it is worse with a case bc the cases are so heavy, but honestly, why would you pick your phone up like that? my hinge automatically opens at some angles too but in reality, I never hold my handset that way so it's not really an issue... you should have exchanged it and maybe you would have gotten a better phone

BLOCKED. now I want have to worry about seeing your name pop up in my inbox. oh and I've never seen someone in so denial as you I can't help it that the hinge is loose on most of these devices. The G2 just didn't live up to what everyone wanted. owell I'm going with the Evo it's pretty cool/more features

yeah I wouldn't get the G2 too many problems. plus reports are HSPA+ isn't all that fast(go to the tmobile boards..........go to the tmobile boards) other than the cry babbies that are n denial that messages me this phone seems to be a let down.......owell can't wait to get that awsome Fast 4g evo

HSPA is more widespread than 4G at the moment and I would prefer a physical keyboard and a sleek device rather on a reliable network than a Fat brick running on a Shit network, that claims to be the 'Now' network.

@elinebe - the Z-Hinge seems to be an isolated issue (in my experience), the early adopters seem to have more problems with it than the rest, call 611 and get a New replacement while your under the Buyers Remorse period.

I have it with the same case. Yes it does it without the case too but it's not as bad. However that just means it will get that bad without the case eventually. Mine also arrived with a keyboard defect... The keyboard is basically a bunch of contacts on the circuit board with a keyboard "sticker" stuck on top of it. They must have had oily fingers when they stuck mine cause it's peeling on one side..

Will return soon and also get to wear in the hinge again...

Mine does that too...after having it for less than a day. that is how the hinge works.
