WTF. Any crit and I will legitly like claw eyeballs out and go insane. Im alive, not injured, well, seriously, and Empy is FINE.
One of the worst days in my life. So I had some big news but after today it looks like it won't happen. My college asked me and Empy to be in the largest riding demo for a horse judging contest, with over one hundred contestants watching us, talent scouts maybe, and possible scholarships. We would have to do a hunter hack performance, no sj but we thought it would be alright. There was a local show with the EXACT course, so we went and were going to compete in it for prep. She was fab at first, calm, not stressed, and I was so excited. Went out there, and she pulled the dirtiest stop ever. No way to stay on, both her head and shoulders practically disappeared, and I flew over her head and landed in an inverted c shape with my neck stretched out crazy and I am now all jacked up and have a huge cut on my chin. Great way to look on the second week of college.
I was totally devastated, disgusted, hurt, in more ways than one and just at a loss, I felt tiny, I made myself and my horse look like crap in front of 30 other competitors, and a rather large crowd. Ugh. Talk about literally feeling like shit. But I HAD to end on a good note, I couldn't let her get into a habit of stopping, so after everyone was gone we drove back and schooled. And she was back to normal Empy, the OMG I LOVE JUMPING Empy. The horse that if I let go of the reins automatically goes over the jumps. Idk what it was, if she saw something, got confused, felt unbalanced, but whatever she was over it, and jumped nearish to 3 feet from almost a trot and cleared the four foot plus standards. How high are they, idk, I haven't measured, but they come up to my shoulder, so maybe even 5 feet. But please note I didn't set up a HUGE jump, she wanted to bounce over it that height herself, the jump really wasn't that large and we only did it 3 times. And we only cantered 2 strides literally to that jump, so don't look at it and go, HORSE ABUSE! or anything, please, she wanted to jump it that way. Weirdo. We are fine jumping "large" fences but give us a teeny tiny x with a groundline and we just about die. Literally.
NO CRIT! I KNOW, I am left behind a bit over the larger fences, but I am crazy sore, and there is no way I am going to go over her head again, so I was WAY back for a reason.
So yeah. But I still love my horse, she came back, got her shot at redemption and she showed me she still wants to do it, so we will keep going for it.
Other stuff, college is way stressful, Red is good and Tex had his first lesson since his surgery and was great. Thats it for now.
Peace out, haha.
She is sooo much like Zander!!!! He will go over big (1' 9" is big for him) no PROBLEM....but oh no, a puny little cross rail and he has to stop at it every time!!! That's why we haven't gone to a show yet, among many other things. But I bet if we met for real we would get along so well....similar horsie problems and riding problems; I get left behind or I jump to early, which screws Zander up. I know he would be fine if it weren't for me. But that's why I love him, he tries so hard for me.

@horsesofcourses1: Ahaha, our special ponies ;D The people here were NOT set up for an o/f class, they jacked up the ground line we're pretty sure and the horses all had trouble seeing the top and bottom of the jump. Every horse in that class refused the fence, idk it was jacked up! And it happens but I don't think its just you, lol, how they move and jump plays a HUGE part! It takes time and Im sure you guys will get there =]
