Well, lots of artists sing cover songs,don't they? and he did have a certain style of dancing that was his own. I saw Elvis being interviewed and talking about his black influences etc so he was honest about it. A lot of todays musicians are influenced by those that came before them and they adapt things for themselves as well. So I don't think it's fair to say he built his legacy on the backs of others. No way, he had plenty to offer himself.

White men wrote Hound dog. Lieber and Stoller. Thornton would never have been known in main stream America if not for for Elvis selling 8 million of this song. Only then was she noticed out there. He actually helped her to be known in this country. She would have disappeared into oblivion. About Wilson....

A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis.
