A gay-friendly bar on Clark Street hosted the first anniversary of a local art show in tandem with a Halloween party. Gay and gay-friendly ghouls and goblins got a chance to strut their stuff Saturday night when a Rogers Park bar celebrated the first anniversary of an anything-but-typical art show.
Called "Northern Lights," the show brings together eclectic artists and performers on the last Saturday of every month to entertain people in a welcoming environment. There are "no boundaries for art and music or gender" here, said Parlour on Clark owner Jennifer Murphy, 48.
Crowds of revelers also celebrated Halloween. Some people chose sexy, skin-bearing costumes, while others hid under Sesame Street Muppet coverings. Still others came dressed as themselves.
