Hi Youtube friends. Here is my Edison Home phonograph model B from 1905 with the gear change package from 1908 with the model H reproducer in place to play the new four minute records. The song is The four jacks by the New York military band, special record A. You got these with the gear change attachment. It cost $7.50 for the attachment package. The volume is very good on this cylinder with my morning glory horn. The lady to the left is Simone who is always bored, bored, bored with everything !! Enjoy !!

  • @edisonphonographs Thanks For The Info :-)

  • @ninjabluewings The pick up is actually called the reproducer. The horn attaches to the reproducer with a rubber tube. The reproducer and the carriage which holds the reproducer do not rest directly on the record. Instead the carriage is supported by and slides on the edge in front of the record called a knife edge. The reproducer has a small fish tail weight that pushes the stylus onto the surface of the record. Only the weight of the stylus and reproducer weight bears on the record.

  • Now This Looks VERY INTERESTING! Is That Horn Connected Directly To The Pick Up? If So How Much Weight Is Pressing On That Cylinder Groove? They Must Have Worn The Grooves Out Real Fast

  • Great video!!

  • Great video!!

  • One of my favourite marches, rarely heard these days. Losch is also credited with composing three other marches with similar titles; The Four Aces, The Four Kings and The Four Queens.

Thanks for posting this very interesting recording. That cylinder is in excellent condition, too.

  • What a nice machine! Beautiful morning glory horn!

  • Geesh i thought that was a real lady standing there lol :)

    Nice as always Desoto

  • Beautiful machine!

  • This is really one beautiful phonograph. I have not heard many cylinder phonographs, it sounds good. My grandmother had an Edison cylinder phonograph but lost it in a flood back in 1951.
