Dave Elliot also costarred with Canadian Shannon Tweed in a Canadian series after his stint on SL. It was entitled FLY BY NIGHT. It was something similar to NBC's WINGS series. It didn't last very long and everybody moved on..............

Well I agree with you in the sense that when this theme was first used in this season it needed to be touched up. It sounds much better in later seasons and I love the remake of the music at the end of the last episode.

Seriously? I don't mind this opening but I hate the "lighter" version of the theme used in this season compared to the slight difference in orchestration found in seasons 5 - 7.

The reason this show aired on BBC Canada (it doesn't anymore) is due to what we call "CanCon" rules. In Canada, most stations must air a certain percentage of Canadian-produced programming (Canadian Content). Despite the name 'BBC Canada', it is a Canadian-owned station and is required to air CanCon for a portion of its schedule. Canadian programs like 'Street Legal' tend to air on Canadian cable stations frequently due to this. 'Street Legal' is currently airing on 'Bravo! Canada'.

Well actually, David James Elliot doesn't play a lawyer in this show. He is a police officer, does undercover work, and eventually becomes a private detective.
